TEMPE, Ariz. – Denison men's tennis was recognized by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) this past week for their successes on the tennis court and in the classroom as four student-athletes were named ITA Scholar-Athletes. Additionally, the men's tennis program was honored as one of the ITA's All-Academic Teams for the third-straight year after compiling a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.20 or better.
Senior Kevin Brown rounded out his DU career as a four-time ITA Scholar-Athlete while junior Julian Janczak received the honor for the third-straight season. Sophomore Mitchell Thai returned as a Scholar-Athlete after accepting the award as a freshman and first-year Tim Cianciola closed out the Big Red accolades as a first-time recipient. To qualify, an athlete must be a varsity letter winner, have a grade point average of at least 3.50 for the current academic year and have been enrolled at their present school for at least two semesters.
Denison wrapped up the 2018-19 season with an overall record of 12-7 overall while advancing to the NCAC Championship match for the second-straight year.
