CRAWFORDSVILLE, Ind.--  A Wabash touchdown with 2:55 remaining broke a 20-20 tie and 90 seconds later, the Little Giants put the game away with a 64-yard touchdown run to edge Denison 34-20 from Hollett Little Giant Stadium.

The Big Red trailed 13-10 at halftime but took the lead with 6:35 left in the third on a 5-yard touchdown pass from Drew Dawkins to Dallas Griffiths.

Wabash responded with a 40-yard touchdown pass from Liam Thompson to Cooper Sullivan with 10:49 left in the fourth.  On the Big Red's ensuing possession, they pieced together a nine-play 59-yard drive that ended in a 32-yard field goal by Pat Kramer that tied the game at 20-20.

The Thompson to Sullivan connection came back to bite the Big Red.  Facing 3rd and 2 from the Denison 27, the Wabash first-year quarterback connected with Sullivan on a 27-yard touchdown to go on top 27-20.

Denison took over with 2:48 left and quickly got the ball to midfield on a 25-yard completion from Dawkins to Peyton Vining.  On 1st and 10 from the Wabash 46, Dawkins' pass was intercepted at the 18-yard line and returned to the 31.

DU needed a quick three-and-out to have one last chance at tying the game.  On 3rd and 5 from the Wabash 36, Avaant broke free for the 64-yard touchdown to put the game away.

The Denison offense was led by Alex Minton who carried the ball 27 times for 188 yards.  His long run of the day was a 49-yard run in the first quarter.  Vining led the receivers with five receptions for 96 yards.  Dawkins was 12-of-24 for 153 yards and a touchdown.  He also ran the ball 15 times for 68 yards.

Chris Negrete led the defense with 12 tackles.  Andrew Smith followed with 10 tackles and Ryan Hallinan posted nine stops.

Avaant ran the ball seven times for 111 yards and a touchdown.  Sullivan hauled in seven passes for 168 yards and two TDs.  Thompson was 18-fo-23 for 311 yards and two touchdowns.

Denison (2-1) will look to rebound on Saturday (Oct. 5) when they take on Allegheny College in Meadville, Pennsylvania at 6 p.m.
