DU places 12th; Clark qualifies for nationals

The Denison women's cross country team placed 12th out of 33 teams and senior Michelle Clark qualified for nationals, highlighting the day's events at the Division III Great Lakes Regional from Anderson, Ind.

After earning All-North Coast Athletic Conference honors two weeks ago, Clark returned with a 10th place overall finish out of the field of 234 runners.  She covered the 6K course in 21:59.46.  Her finish marked the highest by a DU runner since Katie Navarre won the regional in 2009.

Following in 67th place was Abbi Boss who checked in with a time of 23:41.21.  Macy Thornburg followed in 82nd place after a time of 24:05.19.  Sarah McKendry was one spot behind, crossing in 24:06.83.

Hope College won the team championship with 91 points.  Oberlin followed in second with 95 points.  The individual championship went to Ohio Northern's Alison Steinbrunner.
