Marguerite named NCAC Player of the Week
Denison junior libero Emily Marguerite was named North Coast Athletic Conference Player of the Week in volleyball after helping the Big Red pick up a pair of key league wins last week.
Marguerite averaged 9.71 digs in seven sets to pace the Big Red defense in wins over Wooster (3-1) and Allegheny (3-0). Against both the Scots and Gators, the junior posted 34 digs and three aces. She also added a kill on three attempts in the four-set win over Wooster.
This season, Marguerite leads the nation in digs per set with a 7.33 average, while the Big Red as a team ranks seventh in the country with 20.07 digs per set. The junior libero also ranks in the top 10 in the conference with 32 services aces.
Marguerite and the Big Red (14-5, 3-1 NCAC) take a break from conference play on Thursday when they travel to New Concord, Ohio to take on Muskingum University. Match time is slated for 7 p.m.
