Denison posts win No. 13 at Wooster

Three players posted double figures in kills as Denison improved to 13-5 on the season with a 3-1 (25-22, 25-23, 23-25, 25-14) victory over Wooster on Tuesday night at Timken Gym.

Denison took a 2-0 lead in a pair of tightly contested opening sets.  In the third, Wooster held off Denison to extend the match, but in the fourth set it was all Big Red.  DU would match its opening set with 15 kills and they were efficient, going 15 for 29 for a .448 hitting percentage.

For the match, Brittany Perry led the way with 12 kills.  Elena Lein followed with 10 kills and three blocks while Rachele Lock contributed 10 kills and two blocks.

Following with nine kills off just 16 attacks was senior Lauren GustafsonJessica Borsani led DU with 31 assists while Carly Newell added 20 assists and 14 digs.  The North Coast Athletic Conference's dig leader, Emily Marguerite, finished with 34 on the night. She also posted three service aces. 

Paige Parker would lead Wooster with 12 kills while Lydia Webster followed with 11.

Denison will return to action on Saturday when they host Allegheny College at 1 p.m.
