The Big Red women's outdoor track and field team finished fourth at the College of Wooster Invitational on Friday after compiling 58 points.
Sophomore Tiffany Davis led the way with victory in the 100-meter dash. Davis clocked in with a personal-best time of 12.60. Denison also scored major points in the middle distance events. In the 800, senior Ani Mutafova took second with a time of 2:26.78, while rookie Abbi Boss placed seventh after crossing the line in 2:34.57.
Mutafova also logged a third-place finish in the 1500-meter run with a time of 4:58.99. The senior was trailed by Michelle Clark and Boss who finished fourth and fifth, respectively. Clark posted a time of 5:00.98, while Boss checked in at 5:03.40. Rounding out the scoring in the event was Olivia Galano, who finished seventh with a time of 5:14.78. First-year Jillian Reagan also placed fifth in the 400 hurdles after checking in at 1:15.18.
In the field events, rookie Kristen Geary took fourth in the pole vault after clearing 9-00.25. Senior Katherine Sylvia took fifth in the shot put with a toss of 33-00.50, while Kendra Epstein finished ninth in the long jump with a leap of 12-05.75.
In the 4x400 relay, Mutafova, Clark, Laura Houcque and Davis posted a time of 4:47.11 which landed them in fourth place.
Denison returns to competition on Saturday (April 7) at the Marv Frye Invitational hosted by Ohio Wesleyan.
