The Denison women's track & field team sent half of the squad to the Kent State Tune-Up and half to the Kenyon Classic in Gambier. While the Kent St. meet was unscored, DU did place seventh in Gambier with a score of 30 points.
At Kenyon, Katelyn Benson led the way with a second-place finish in the 5,000 meters. Kendra Epstein took fourth in the long jump and Kristen Geary cleared 2.90 meters to take seventh in the pole vault.
In Kent, Aedin Brennan posted the best finish of the day as she took fourth in the triple jump with a distance of 11.19 meters. She also turned in an 11th place finish in the long jump, covering 5.03 meters and was 26th in the 60 meter hurdles.
Emily Lamm laced 14th in the mile and 21st in the 800 while Brook Yewer took 27th in the 400 dash and 33rd in the 200 dash. In the prelims of the 60 meter dash, Tiffany Davis placed 11th (7.99) and Yewer was 29th (8.27). Also competing at Kent State was Olivia Galano (26th in the 5K) and Sarah McKendry (27th in the 5K).
Denison will host its annual Last Chance Meet next Saturday (Feb. 23) at the Mitchell Fieldhouse.
