SPRINGFIELD, Ohio -- The Denison women's tennis team shut out North Coast Athletic Conference West Division foe Wittenberg, 9-0, on Tuesday afternoon.

DU limited the Wittenberg doubles teams to four combined points after posting a pair of 8-1 victories and an 8-2 win. The No. 1 pairing of Lauren Hawley and Emma Alsup earned their 17th win of the season, while Olivia Underwood and Charlotte Purnode posted their ninth victory on the year. Both teams won with 8-1 scores. Carol Vitellas and Ashley Hammons improved to 3-2 at the third flight with an 8-2 decision.

The Big Red successfully swept all six singles flights in straight sets. Alsup racked up her team-best eighth-consecutive singles win with a 6-2, 6-0 victory at No. 2 singles. The win was her 12th at the flight and 15th overall this year.
