Taylor Hawkins won twice in DU's 4-3 victory over George Mason on Sunday.

The Big Red women's tennis team extended its current winning streak to four matches following a 4-3 victory over Division I George Mason on Sunday afternoon in Hilton Head, S.C.

Denison gained the early 1-0 lead in the match winning two out of three doubles matches.  The veteran duo of senior Alex Marcell and junior Kelsey Geppner picked up an 8-5 victory over Kiersten Pappas and Brittany Pilkington at the top doubles flight.  At No. 2 doubles, Taylor Hawkins and Audrey Fitzpatrick squeaked past Maya Hicks and Ashley Delaney, 8-6.

Hawkins got Denison's second point of the match with a victory at third singles after her opponent, Pappas, was forced to withdraw with a back injury.  Emma Forman improved to 6-0 on the year and 3-0 at the sixth flight following a straight-set win (6-1, 6-4) over Andrea Londen.

Geppner provided the matching-winning point at No. 2 singles.  The junior easily won the first set over Hicks 6-2, but dropped the second via 7-5 score.  In the final set, Geppner won a dominating 10-2 decision to win the match for DU.

Denison improves to 4-2 on the year, while George Mason falls to 2-6.  The Big Red returns to the court on Tuesday when they take on Baldwin Wallace at 1 p.m. in Hilton Head, S.C.
