GRANVILLE, Ohio-- The second-ranked Denison women's swimming & diving team racked up 12 wins resulting in a 174-115 win over 12th ranked Carnegie Mellon from the Trumbull Aquatics Center.

First-year standout KT Kustritz swept both breaststroke events and senior Campbell Costley won the 1,000 free and the 500 free.  Kustritz won the 100 breaststroke by more than four seconds after touching in 1:03.78.  In the 200 breast she opened up a six-second lead on the competition after a time of 2:20.22.

In the 500 free, Costley logged a time of 5:02.73 and Caroline Colville checked in second with a time of 5:14.23.  In the 1,000 free, Costley and Hannah Rusinko went 1-2 in the standings.  Costley won the race with her time of 10:19.84 and Rusinko finished in 10:38.54.

Carolyn Kane logged an individual win on Senior Day as she posted a 23.92 to win the 50 free.  Carly Olsakovsky followed in second in 24.75.

In the 200 fly, Halli Garza came close to her season-best time in the event as she logged a winning 'B' cut time of 2:02.73.  Her best time this season is 2:02.48.

Senior Alex Elizeus won the 200 free in 1:57.73 and Casey Kirby took first in the 100 backstroke, touching in 58.65.

Kirby, Kustritz, Angela Le and Kane made up the winning 200 medley relay as they logged a 'B' cut time of 1:45.53.  That group's best time this year is 1:42.86 set in December.

In the 100 free, Le beat Gabriella Nutter to the wall with a time of 53.59.  Nutter took second in 53.61.  The 200 backstroke was DU's final swimming win as Erica Hsu touched in 2:06.74.

In diving, Allison Fitzgerald logged the top scores on the 1-meter and 3-meter boards.  In the 11-dive competition, Fitzgerald totaled a score of 455.48 on the 1-meter and 433.88 on the 3-meter.  Her score on the 3-meter was a season-best.  Sarah Lopez took second on the 1-meter with a score of 399.98 which was also an 11-dive best score for the senior in 2016-17.  The second-best score on the 3-meter board belonged to Emma Weber at 432.98.  That was just shy of her season-best total of 441.23 set against DePauw.
