Denison's Kelly Frazier was one of six divers to qualify for the 2013 NCAA Division III Diving Championship thanks to her performance at the NCAA Region I Diving Championship hosted by Calvin College.
Frazier qualified for nationals thanks to her fourth-place finish in the 3-meter board this afternoon. She posted an 11-dive score of 470.75 which broke a 27-year old school record set by Denison great, and former national champion, Natalie Gibbs in 1986. Frazier surpassed Gibbs' school record score of 464.55 on her final dive.
On Friday, in the 1-meter dive, Frazier posted a score of 409.30 and placed ninth overall. The Denison rookie was one of 17 divers who qualified to compete at the first-ever NCAA Regional. Just six divers of those 17 will make the trip to Shennadoah, Texas in three weeks.
