Denison improved to 10-3 on Friday following its 21-1 victory over Urbana University. The Big Red opened the contest with five goals in the first four minutes of the game. That blistering pace would continue throughout the first period and at halftime, they found themselves out in front 16-0.
Five more goals in the second half would result in a season-high 21 goals for DU. The scoring was spread out evenly as Alex Thurner paced the team with three goals and four assists. Molly Sbrega followed with three goals and one assist while Olivia Shiland also added four points (2 goals, 2 assists).
Also netting two goals apiece was Lisa Feroli and Laura Spinelli. Carly Tschantz and Molly Cornbrooks each notched four draw controls and Tschantz also paced the squad with four caused turnovers and four ground balls.
Denison outshot Urbana 39-5 and won 20 of 24 draws.
The Big Red's next contest will be next Saturday (April 21) at The College of Wooster.
