Lisa Feroli scored a career-high six goals and added two assists as Denison rolled to a 16-7 victory over Centre College. With the win, Denison improves to 3-0 on the season.
After the two teams opened the game with goals in the first five minutes of play, the Big Red went on a tear, scoring 12-straight goals to close out the first half with a 13-1 lead. In the second half Centre added six scores but never cut its deficit to less than eight goals.
Feroli scored four of her six goals in the first half. During that 12-goal run, Denison scored a pair of goals within a span of only 25 seconds when Molly Sbrega hit Alex Thurner and Molly Chapman on quick-strike goals.
Overall, Denison outshot Centre 33-27 while taking 15 draws. Following Feroli's eight points was Thurner with four points (2 goals, 2 assists), Olivia Shiland with three goals and four draws, Sbrega with one goal and two assists and Carly Tschantz with two goals and six draws.
Dating back to the 2011 season, Denison has no won 13 of its last 14 games. With the loss, Centre falls to 3-1 on the season. The Big Red returns to action on Friday (March 9) with a 5 p.m. start against Adrian College.
