18 holes remain in NCAC Series
The Denison women's golf team sits in fourth place at the North Coast Athletic Conference Invitational after round one. Through 54 of 72 holes of the 2013 NCAC Championship Series, the Big Red also remains in fourth place with 1,039 strokes.
On Saturday at Oakhaven Golf Course in Delaware, Ohio, DU fired a team total of 350 led by freshman Brynn FitzGerald's 82. Following in a tie for 10th place with an 86 was Amanda Castle. Sophomore Stacey Adams carded an 89 to tie for 15th and Rebecca Rabb rounded out the scoring with a 93.
In the overall standings, FitzGerald sits in a tie for fourth place overall with 240 strokes after rounds of 77, 81, and 82. Castle is tied for 14th at 261 and Adams is right behind at 262. Denison's 1,039 total strokes has them trailing third-place Allegheny by 33 strokes heading into Sunday's final round.
On Saturday, DePauw's Kelsey Smith fired the low round of the day with a 76. Teammate Paige Gooch followed with a 77.
