Nicole Coggins led DU with 11 points against Hope.

Hope College opened the second half on a 12-3 run that would help propel the 12th ranked Flying Dutch to a 70-48 victory over the Denison Big Red at the Hampton Inn/Damons Tip-Off Tournament hosted by Wilmington College.

In the first half both team connected on 10 field goals, but Hope entered the second half with a 28-22 lead.  The run to open the second half would be too much for Denison to overcome.  Nicole Coggins scored a team-high 11 points while going 4-for-11 from the field.  Serafina Nuzzo followed with nine points while Gretchen Staubach led the team in rebounding with six.

Hope pressured DU into 28 turnovers and the Flying Dutch turned those into 24 points.

The Flying Dutch had three players score in double figures and were led by Brittany Berry's 15 points while going 5-for-8 from beyond the arc.  Courtney Kust and Liz Ellis each scored 13 points for Hope.

Denison will return to action on Saturday at 1 p.m. to face Bethany College in the tournament consolation game.  The Bison suffered a 59-42 loss to Wilmington in Friday night's opening game.
