The Denison men's cross country team took 10th out of 21 Division III squads at the 59th Annual All-Ohio Championship hosted by Cedarville University on Friday afternoon. As a team, the Big Red compiled 253 points.
DU was led by freshman Jake Dennie who finished 58th overall and 15th among Division III runners. Dennie covered the 8K course in 26:40.26. Trailing Dennie was sophomore Sam Beech who took 26th out of 143 D-III runners after completing the race in 27:03.31.
Freshman Drake Lohnes crossed the finish line in 27:52.20 en route to a 58th-place finish, while senior John Williamson and sophomore Ryan Keller rounded out the scoring for Denison. Williamson's time of 28:10.57 landed him in 61st place, while Keller posted a time of 29:30.61.
Oberlin sophomore Geno Arthur won the Division III race with a time of 25:42.00. Case Western Reserve won the team title with 106 points, while John Carroll (111), Oberlin (118), Mount Union (122) and Ohio Northern (149) rounded out the top five.
After a week off from competition, the Big Red will return to action on Oct. 19 at the Oberlin Invitational. The first race is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m.
