DELAWARE, Ohio -- The Denison men's track and field team collected 33 points en route to a 10th-place finish at the 2017 All-Ohio Championship meet on Saturday at Ohio Wesleyan University.

Denison sophomore All-American David Carter turned in the best finish of the day for DU, finishing runner-up in the triple jump with a combined leap of 46'7.50". Freshman James Dixie took fifth in the event with a mark of 41'8.50". Carter also placed seventh in the long jump with a top-performance of 21'7.25".

Freshman Ivan Maldonado and senior Drake Lohnes posted a pair of top-five performances in the javelin. Maldonado was third in the event with a heave of 172'5", while Lohnes' toss of 152' landed him in fifth place overall. In other field event action, freshman Bryce Stricker scored in the shot put with a personal-best performance of 45'10". That mark earned him seventh place while also moving him into seventh on the school's top performer's list. Stricker also re-set his own school mark in the hammer throw with a toss of 149'.

Clayton Watters was sixth in the 10,000-meter run after checking in at 35:27.13, while Niall Clancey took seventh in the 1500 with a final time of 4:07.00. The 4x400 relay team of Isaac Andrews, Michael Bonebrake, Zach Munn and Jack Ruddy took seventh with a time of 3:25.13. The foursome's time was good enough for 10th on the Big Red's top performance list.

The host Battling Bishops won the All-Ohio team title with 134.50 points, while Otterbein finished with 109.50 tallies. Case Western Reserve was third with 76 points followed by Ohio Northern (68) and Heidelberg (66.50).

Denison will be back in action next Saturday (April 22) at the Kenyon Spring Invitational in Gambier, Ohio.
