Sophomore Isaac Reed became the program's new record holder in the 60-meter hurdles on Saturday at Kenyon, while sophomore David Carter and freshman James Dixie both picked up wins in the triple jump this weekend.

Entering Saturday's Kenyon Classic, Reed personal-best time in the 60-meter hurdles was seven hundredths of a second behind the school record set by Wallace Branche on Feb. 2, 2013. In the preliminaries of the 60 hurdles, the sophomore turned in a time of nine seconds flat that was good enough for seventh place which earned him a spot in the finals. In the finals, Reed was seeming shot out of a cannon as he shaved 28 hundredths of a second off his prelim time en route to a third-place showing. His time of 8.72 was a 17 hundredths of a second improvement on his previous PR and surpassed Branche's school record time by one tenth of a second.

Carter and Dixie accomplished similar feats less than 24 hours and roughly 58 miles apart. On Friday at the Ohio State University Tune-Up, Carter won the triple jump event with a combined mark of 43'9".  The following day in Gambier, Dixie won his debut in the triple jump with a combined leap of 41'10.75".

Also helping DU's cause at the Kenyon Classic were a quartet of distance and middle distance performers. Freshman Rhys Fitschen-Brown and junior Jeremy Bloomfield finished second and third, respectively, in the 5,000-meter event. Fitschen-Brown checked in at 16:48.32, while Bloomfield crossed the finish line in 16:55.54. Seniors Zach Cove and Patrick Dunn and Zach Munn also recorded top-5 finishes. Cove was runner-up in the 800 with a time of 2:03.32. Three slots and less than a second later Munn finished the race, turning in a time of 2:04.03 which landed him in fifth place. Dunn was third in the mile with a time of 4:42.34.

The freshmen duo of Isaac Andrews and Jake Coplin also added to Denison's point total. Andrews finished fifth in the 200 dash (23.52) and sixth in the 400 (52.65). Coplin took fifth in the long jump with a leap of 20'0.25". In the final event of the night, the grouping of Andrews, Cove, Munn and Jack Ruddy placed second in the 4x400 relay with a time of 3:32.49.

Penn State-Behrend took home the team title with 113 points, while Wittenberg was second with 83 tallies. Wooster finished third with 79 points followed by Bethany (73.5) and Denison (68). The host Lords (52), Waynesburg (45.5), Westminster (41.5) and Oberlin (1.5) rounded out the team standings.

DU will be back in action when they host the NCAC Last Chance Meet this Friday (Feb. 24) at the Mitchell Fieldhouse in Granville. Events are scheduled to begin at 5 p.m.
