The Denison outdoor track and field team ran at the annual Kenyon Spring Invitational on Saturday afternoon in Gambier, Ohio.
Junior Dimonde Hale paced the Big Red with a pair of top-8 finishes. Hale took third in the 400-meter dash with a time of 50.67. The junior also posted a time of 23.03 in the 200-meter dash en route to a seventh-place finish.
Senior Chris Dunn finished fourth in the 5,000 with a time of 16:12.83, while Joe Thackery and Jonathan Brachna placed ninth in the 800 and 400, respectively. Thackery clocked in at 2:06.04, while Brachna crossed the line in 52.56.
In the 4x400 relay, Brachna, Ivanhoe Hall, Win Fox and Hale combined for a time of 3:28.92. The foursome's time landed them in second place. Joe Nichols had a strong showing in the field events. The junior finished second in the triple jump with a distance of 39'4". Nichols also took fifth in the high jump (5'5.75") and 13th in the long jump (17'4.75").
DU returns to competition on Friday when they host the Big Red Invitational.
