Roth posted the lone DU victory in Gambier. The senior was victorious in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.18.
Over 100 miles away from Roth's win, Salukombo and junior Chad Kosanovich were representing the Big Red at the Kent State Tune Up. The duo opened the day with a strong showing in the mile. Salukombo finished seventh with a time of 4:12.15 and broke his own school record in the event, shaving eight hundredths of a second off the previous record. Kosanovich also recorded a personal best, finishing 13th with a time of 4:17.11.
Later in the day, Salukombo posted the second best performance in school history in the 800 (1:54.95). The senior's time landed him in 10th place.
In addition to Roth, Jonathan Brachna and Steven Johnson helped the Denison cause with top-5 finishes. Brachna took third in the 800 with a time of 1:59.73, while Johnson took fourth in the 5,000-meter run (16:43.40). Trailing Brachna in the 800 were junior Stephen Czujko and senior Joe Thackery. Czujko finished seventh after crossing the line in 2:06.07, while Thackery was eighth with a time of 2:08.17. Irwin Castro also logged an eighth-place finish in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 10.90.
Denison returns to action on Friday (Feb. 24) at the Denison Last Chance Meet. Events are scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m.
