GRANVILLE, Ohio -- The Denison men's tennis team dropped a 5-4 decision to DePauw in their regular season finale on Saturday afternoon. The loss drops the Big Red's North Coast Athletic Conference West Division record to 2-1.

Denison held the early 2-1 edge after winning two-thirds of the doubles matches. The sophomore tandem of Kevin Brown and Blake Burstein doubled up Dan Rodefeld and Matt Santen, 8-4, at the top flight for their eighth-straight win of the season. Colin Bahin and Danish Siddiquie moved to 6-5 as a team after defeating John Daseke and Matthew Quammen, 8-4, at No. 3 doubles.

Despite trailing after doubles, the Tigers rallied back to win four out of six singles flights to earn the victory. Junior Jamie McDonald and senior Owen Smith picked up the Big Red's singles wins at the second and third flights, respectively. McDonald took down Santen 6-2, 6-1, while Owen defeated Greg Frauenheim via matching 6-2 scores.

Denison (8-9) will return to action in two weeks when they take part in the 2017 NCAC Championship on April 28-30. The three-day event will be co-hosted by Kenyon College and Denison University.
