WOOSTER, Ohio -- The 34th-ranked Denison men's tennis team knocked off the College of Wooster, 7-2, on Wednesday at the D.J. Hard Tennis Courts.

The Big Red grabbed a commanding lead in the match after sweeping doubles play. Jamie McDonald and Owen Smith improved to 6-2 on the year after a dominating 8-1 decision over Andrew Long and Nathan Devereux. Colin Bahin and Danish Siddiquie pushed the match lead to 2-0 with an 8-3 victory, while the No. 1 team of Kevin Brown and Blake Burstein earned an 8-5 win to complete the sweep.

The Scots broke up the shutout with a win at the top single flight. McDonald pulled DU within one point of clinching the match after a 6-2, 6-0 win at No. 2 singles. Smith secured the Big Red's fourth win of the season with a 6-2, 6-2 decision over David Elkins at third singles. Siddiquie and Costas Alevizopoulos picked up Denison's other two victories of the match. Siddiquie defeated Jesse DeWitt 6-0, 6-4 at No. 4, while Alevizopoulos shutout Long in straight sets (6-0, 6-0) at the sixth flight.
