GRANVILLE, Ohio-- The NCAA released the invitees to the 2017 NCAA Division IIII Men's Swimming & Diving Championship and the Big Red will send 18 competitors to Shenandoah, Texas on March 15-18.
Denison is led by 2016 NCAA Division III Swimmer of the Year, Jack Lindell. He is the defending national champion in the 200 IM, 400 IM, 200 backstroke and the 800 free relay. This year, he checks in with the nation's fastest time in the 400 IM at 3:51.56. He is seeded third in the 200 IM at 1:48.66 and third in the 200 back at 1:46.68. Lindell is a 12-time All-American and a four-time national champion. He is also the national record-holder in the 200 IM, set at last year's national meet in Greensboro, N.C.
Stuart Hohm is making his third-straight trip to nationals and he is seeded fourth in the 500 free (4:28.04) and fifth in the 200 Free (1:38.49). He placed seventh in the 500 Free in 2016.
Sophomore Zach Wagner leads DU in the sprint free events. He is seeded fifth in the 100 free (44.37) and 11th in the 50 free (20.47).
Denison divers Max Levy and Brian Allen are making their fourth-straight appearances at nationals. The duo has combined for 10 All-American performances. In 2015, Levy was named the NCAA Division III Diver of the Year after sweeping the one and three-meter boards.
The Big Red captured their third national championship in 2016, marking their third title in six years. Denison has finished either first or second at nationals for seven-straight years. They have a 34-year streak of top-10 finishes entering this year's meet.
