Rosenburg receives NCAC honor

Denison junior Damon Rosenburg was named North Coast Athletic Conference Men's Swimmer of the Week after helping the Big Red win the Miami Invitational last weekend in Oxford, Ohio.

Rosenburg enjoyed a breakout meet as he posted three first-place finishes and one second-place performance, highlighted by an NCAA Division III record time of 53.61 to finish first in the 100 breast. He is the first male swimmer in Div. III history to post a sub-54-second time in the event. He also bested another school record in the 200 breast after touching the wall second with a time of 2:01.37.

In addition to his breaststroke win, Rosenburg was also part of the victorious 200 and 400 medley relay teams.  Rosenburg along with Sean Chabot, Andrew Rich and Ryan Fleming won the 200 medley relay with a 'B' cut time of 1:28.65.  That time also broke the school record set last year by one one-hundredth of a second.  In the 400 medley relay, Chabot, Rosenburg, Rich and Carlos Maciel won with a meet-record time of 3:16.13.
