Damon Rosenburg won the 100 breaststroke against Grove City.

The Denison men's swimmers and divers hit the road on Saturday for a dual meet with Grove City College and the Big Red held off the Wolverines, 159-124.

Sophomore Damon Rosenburg and senior Quinn Bartlett were the lone multiple event winners for DU.  Roseburg won the 100 breaststroke with a time of 57.95 and teamed with Bartlett, Andrew Rich and Spencer Fronk for a win in the first event of the meet, the 200 medley relay.  In that event, the foursome combined for a time of 1:34.97.

In the third event of the meet, Bartlett would capture a win in the 200 freestyle after hitting the wall in 1:44.81.  Junior Al Weik continued his dominance this season in distance events with a win in the 1,000 freestyle in 9:43.06.  Sean Chabot kept up his strong season with a time of 51.93 that equaled a first-place finish in the 100 backstroke.

In the 1-meter dive senior Gabe Dixson was the winner with a score of 300.10.  Newcomer Ben Lewis posted the victory in the 3-meter board with a season-best score of 301.55, leading Denison to a sweep in the diving competitions.

Junior Jackson Humphrey was a winner in the 200 fly with a time of 1:59.13, and first-year Ryan Fleming and sophomore Nick Spaniel each logged victories in the sprint free events.  Fleming won the 50 free in 21.84 while Spaniel touched first in the 100 free in 48.12.

Denison improves to 5-1 in dual meets this season.  They will return to the Trumbull Aquatics Center next Saturday (Jan. 26) for their home season finale against Carnegie Mellon.  The dual meet is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. and Denison's seniors will be honored prior to the meet.
