Big Red continues to rise in the polls

Men's Lacrosse team huddle

Winners of five-straight, the Denison men's lacrosse team rose from No. 17 to No. 12 in the USILA Division III Coaches Poll.  They also moved to No. 8 in the Nike/US Lacrosse Top-20.

The Big Red is coming off a 3-0 spring break which saw them garner convincing wins over Montclair State, No. 10 Dickinson and Nazareth.

Denison stopped Montclair St., 13-4 at the US Lacrosse Headquarters in Sparks, Maryland.  Spencer Butler scored three goals and went on to be named the North Coast Athletic Conference Player of the Week.

On March 17-18 in Owings Mills, Maryland, Denison knocked off nationally ranked Dickinson, 11-3 and returned the following day with a 17-6 win over Nazareth.  Both games were played at Stevenson University as part of the 2017 Mustang Classic.  Senior Liam Rooney scored seven goals and added 10 assists in the two games.  He was named the NCAC Player of the Week on March 20.

Denison (5-1) will open North Coast Athletic Conference play on Saturday, March 25 when they travel to Greencastle, Indiana for a 3 p.m. faceoff against DePauw.
