Senior Tommy Harrison was named to the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association's Scholar All-American team and was one of three Denison players selected to play in the annual North-South Senior All-Star game on Sunday, May 25 at 10 a.m. at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore, Md.
Joining Harrison in the North-South Game will be Austin Campbell and Chapin Speidel. All three will play for the South team. Since 1960, Denison's number of participants in the annual senior all-star game has risen to 55 players.
Harrison is a four-time All-NCAC pick and was a first-team selection this season. He started 19 games and posted 33 ground balls and 14 caused turnovers. He is one of eight defensemen on the South roster. He is also the 14th player from Denison to be named to the Scholar All-American team. Denison has had at least one Scholar All-American in each of the last six seasons.
Campbell recently repeated as a USILA All-American. He is a two-time NCAC Defensive Player of the Year and is one of two long stick midfielders on the South squad. Campbell led the team in caused turnovers this season and was second in ground balls.
Speidel, who was also recently recognized as a USILA All-American, will play in the midfield for the South. He scored 26 goals and added 18 assists while starting all 20 games. He is a three time all-conference pick and is a two time first-team selection.
