CLAYTON, Ind. – Denison men's golf finished in a tie for sixth place out of 17 teams on Sunday afternoon at DePauw University's Dan Quayle Collegiate Classic.

The Big Red posted a weekend score of 604, which found themselves tied in sixth place with Kansas Wesleyan University and three strokes better than Vincennes University and the College of Wooster who tied for eighth place.

Sophomore Christian Early led the way for Denison with a two-under par 69 in the second round to finish with a weekend score of 145 and a tie for fifth place overall. Freshman Charlie Winkler posted back-to-back 75's for the tournament to finish five strokes back of Early in a tie for 18th place.

Denison's Nick Brodbeck ended the weekend with a total score of 151, only one stroke back of Winkler and good for a 22nd place tie with six other competitors.

Will Grady and Connor Holleran added scores of 159 for the weekend to finish in a tie for 58th place.

The Big Red will travel to Abbottstown, Pennsylvania next weekend (Sept. 30-Oct. 1) for the Mason-Dixon Collegiate tournament hosted by McDaniel College at The Bridges Golf Club.
