SANDUSKY, Ohio--  Denison improved 25 strokes upon Saturday's opening round total. That allowed the Big Red to rise one spot in the final team standings at the Battle at the Brook, hosted by Ohio Wesleyan University at Plum Brook Country Club.  Overall, Denison finished in fifth place with a 36-hole total of 625.  Ohio Wesleyan was the team champion at 585 followed by Kenyon at 592.  Kalamazoo placed third with 614 and Thomas More was fourth at 618.  Olivet College ended at 644 to finish sixth.

After leading DU with a 79 on Saturday, Christian Early carded a two-over par 72 on Sunday to squeak out a top-10 overall finish.  Early's round tied for the fourth-best round shot on Sunday.  It was also two-strokes shy of his career-low.

Charlie Winkler and Connor Holleran followed in a tie for 25th place with 36-hole totals of 157.  Winkler carded a 75 on Sunday while Holleran posted a 77 while playing as Denison's lone individual participant.

Nick Brodbeck and Will Grady both fired rounds of 76 on Sunday to tie for 27th overall and Robbie Whitman followed with an 80 to place 34th.

Individual medalist honors went to Will Efkeman of Ohio Wesleyan who ended with an even-par 142 after a 69 on Saturday and a 73 in the final round.

DU returns to action next weekend when they take part in the Carnegie Mellon Fall Shootout at the Links at Spring Church in Apollo, Pennsylvania.
