The Denison men's golf team picked up their second victory in 2013 following a two-stroke win at the Muskingum Spring Invitational on Saturday at EagleSticks Golf Club in Zanesville, Ohio.
After firing a season-low 295 in the opening round on Friday, the Big Red carded a 301 on the final day of competition en route to posting a 596 team total. Adrian finished second with 598 strokes, while John Carroll (606), Capital (606) and Mount Vernon Nazarene (607) rounded out the top five.
DU junior Aaron Klimchuk took home medalist honors for the second time in his collegiate career after turning in a two-day total of 142. Klimchuk carded an even-par score of 70 on day one, and followed that up with a two-over par 72 on Saturday. The junior edged out second-place Mark Williams (Capital) and Alex Blickle (Kenyon) by two strokes.
Sophomores Jimmy Slovitt and Dylan Francis finished tied for 12th with a pair of 150s. Slovitt carded two 75s, while Francis turned in a 78 on Saturday. Senior Jeff Maier rounded out the scoring with a 156 (80-76).
Over the course of the two-day event, the Big Red recorded 101 pars, 18 birdies and one eagle. Sophomore Alex Geanakos logged DU's lone eagle came in the second round on the 493-yard, par-5 third hole.
Denison looks to build off its second-consecutive win next weekend at the Ohio Wesleyan University Strimer Memorial Invitational at the Glenross Golf Club in Delaware, Ohio.
