KANSAS CITY, Mo.-- The National Association of Basketball Coaches has recognized Denison University Associate Head Men's Basketball Coach Chris Sullivan as one of the 2016-17 Under Armour 30-Under-30. The coaches selected to this exclusive list are all under 30 years of age and have proven themselves among the rising stars in men's college basketball.
Sullivan came to Denison after an All-American career at Wittenberg University. Since joining head coach Bob Ghiloni's staff in 2011-12, the Big Red have earned a berth in every North Coast Athletic Conference Tournament. In 2015-16, Denison won the program's first conference tournament championship, advancing to the 2016 NCAA Division III Tournament.
Prior to this season, Sullivan was elevated to the role of Associate Head Coach. In 2016-17, the Big Red posted the winningest season in program history, finishing 22-5 overall and 15-3 in NCAC play while being nationally ranked for the majority of the season. Seniors David Meurer and Jett Speelman were named first-team All-NCAC performers.
In Sullivan's six seasons at Denison, the Big Red has won 87 total games. He has also coached two all-region honorees in Speelman and Dimonde Hale.
