WESTLAKE, Ohio-- For the second consecutive week, Jett Speelman earned North Coast Athletic Conference Player of the Week recognition.
Speelman averaged 18.5 points and 7.5 rebounds across Denison's two wins last week. In the Big Red's upset victory over Wooster, he posted his first double-double of the season with 25 points and 10 rebounds.
For the season, Speelman is averaging 19.2 points and 6.2 rebounds per game. He is shooting 50.7 percent from the field, 46.7 percent from three, and is a perfect 34-of-34 at the free throw line. Among the nine players to have made all their free throws this season, Speelman's 34 are a dozen more than any other qualifier. He is also one of just six centers to qualify among the NCAA Division III leaders in free throws.
Denison is 6-0 this season. In the most recent D3hoops.com poll, the Big Red are ranked 25th. They travel to Oberlin tomorrow night at 7:30 p.m.
