GRANVILLE, Ohio--  Denison remained undefeated, improving to 6-0 following Saturday's 67-58 win over Kenyon at Livingston Gymnasium.  The Big Red moves to 2-0 in the North Coast Athletic Conference with the victory.

DU led for 35 of the game's 40 minutes and took a 34-25 lead into the locker room powered by Garrett Collier's 12 first half points. Denison shot 37 percent in the first half but dominated the glass, outrebounding the Lords 21-11 over the first 20 minutes of action.

In the second half, Kenyon cut the Denison lead to four in the first minute of the period.  After a quick timeout, the Big Red responded with a 7-0 run, pushing their lead back to 11 with 16:39 to play.

The Denison lead grew to 14 after a Johnny Vernasco jumper with 10:43 to play.  The Lords had one last push in them as they put together a 9-0 run to get within four points with five minutes to play.  Two free throws by Jett Speelman and a charity toss by Devon Pitts lifted the Big Red to a 60-53 lead with 2:58 to play.

A minute later, leading by five, Pitts dove to the floor, securing a loose ball off a miss by Collier.  The offensive rebound set up Speelman for a bucket down low that gave the home team a seven-point lead with 1:41 left.

Down the stretch, DU connected on 5-of-6 from the free throw line to lock up the win.

Collier finished with 14 points while Speelman and David Meurer followed with 12 points each.  Pitts scored six points to go along with five rebounds and four assists in 15 minutes of action.  Meurer and Collier tied for the team lead in rebounds with seven.

For Kenyon, Matt Shifrin led the way with 15 points and seven assists.  Phillip Crampton scored 13 points and Will Sigl chipped in 10.

Denison shot 38 percent as a team and was 72 percent from the free throw line.  For the game, Denison outrebounded the Lords, 49-25.  The biggest discrepancy came on the offensive glass where the Big Red won that battle, 19-3.

Denison returns to the court on Wednesday, Dec. 7 when they travel to Oberlin for a 7:30 p.m. tip-off against the Yeomen.
