Denison senior guard Alex Longi was named North Coast Athletic Conference Player of the Week after helping the Big Red pick up a pair of conference victories last week.
Longi averaged a team-best 17 points per game, helping the Big Red earn wins over Oberlin (71-60) and Wabash (71-54). On Wednesday against Oberlin, Longi scored 15 points in 35 minutes of action. The senior also grabbed eight rebounds and dished out four assists.
At Wabash on Saturday, Longi knocked down 5-of-7 attempts from the floor and went 8-for-11 from the charity stripe. He totaled 19 points to go along with four boards and four assists. On the week, Longi converted 56 percent from the floor (9-for-16) and 68 percent at the foul line (15-for-22).
Longi ranks second on the team in scoring with 14.5 points per game, while his 7.2 rebound per contest are also second-best on the squad. He also ranks second on the Big Red with 34 assists and 11 steals.
