After another solid week that included a pair of conference victories, Denison senior forward Katie McMahon repeated as North Coast Athletic Conference Player of the Week in field hockey.
In two starts last week, McMahon scored three goals and added an assist in wins over the Yeowomen and the Battling Bishops. At Oberlin, the senior scored an unassisted goal in the 20th minute, and followed that up with another score in the 34th minute off an assist from classmate Taylor Bacon. McMahon also picked up an assist on Greta Finney's goal in the 51st minute.
On Saturday against OWU, she erased the Bishop's one-goal lead with a goal from the top of the shooting circle in the 24th minute. Denison went on to win the contest 2-1 to improve to 7-1 in NCAC play. McMahon leads the league in points with 26 and co-leads the conference in goals (10) and assists (6).
McMahon and the Big Red (10-1, 8-1 NCAC) return to action this weekend when they host a pair of NCAC foes. Denison will take on Earlham on Saturday (Oct. 12) at 11 a.m. and DePauw (Oct. 13) on Sunday at 1 p.m.
