Sklenar earns second-straight NCAC honor

After helping the Big Red pull off a dramatic come-from-behind victory over DePauw, Denison junior quarterback Brandon Sklenar was named North Coast Athletic Conference Player of the Week for the second week in a row on Tuesday.

Sklenar and the Big Red offense rattled off 28-straight second-half points, including a 21-point third quarter, to erase a seven-point halftime deficit.  The junior quarterback completed 23-of-28 pass attempts for 292 yards and four touchdowns, and also added 41 yards and two more scores on 13 carries.

The Big Red (4-1, 3-1 NCAC) return to action on Saturday when they travel to Springfield, Ohio for a 1 p.m. contest against 18th-ranked Wittenberg (3-1, 3-0 NCAC).
