Two more earn Academic All-District

Denison seniors Chad Kosanovich and Anne McGinty were named to the Capital One Academic All-District® squad for Division III Track & Field and Cross Country as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Kosanovich recently graduated with a degree in biochemistry. He is a three-time All-North Coast Athletic Conference selection and was a top-20 finisher at this year’s NCAC Cross Country Championship.  On Sept. 18, 2012 he was named the NCAC Runner of the week after a sixth-place finish at the Wooster Invitational. Entering this year’s NCAC Championship he held the conference’s fastest time in the 1,500 meters.

McGinty also earned Academic All-District honors after posting an eighth place finish in the 10,000 meter run at this year’s NCAC Outdoor Track & Field Championship.  That came after a 16th place finish in the 5,000 meter run.  A national merit scholar, McGinty received her degree from Denison in athletic training with a minor in biology.  She was recently accepted into graduate school for Physical Therapy at Duke University.

Both Kosanovich and McGinty were honored as two of Denison’s top-50 student athletes at the annual James T. Glerum Top-50 banquet in April.  As All-District selections, both McGinty and Kosanovich will advance to the national ballot for Academic All-America® consideration.
