GRANVILLE, Ohio-- Two Big Red track and field athletes were honored by the North Coast Athletic Conference for their performances at the All-Ohio meet on April 14-15.
After breaking the All-Ohio record in the 100-meter dash, sophomore Ajai Brooks was named NCAC Women's sprinter/hurdler of the week. Her time of 11.74 seconds broke her own school record. She also finished first in the 200m with a time of 25.22 seconds.
Sophomore David Carter was named Men's Field Athlete of the Week after posting two top-seven finishes at the All-Ohio. In the triple jump, Carter's mark of 14.21 meters was second-best. He also finished seventh in the long jump, leaping 6.58 meters.
This weekend, select members of the Denison track and field teams will be heading to the Jesse Owens Classic at Ohio State University. The majority of the teams will compete at the Kenyon Spring Invitational on April 22 in Gambier, Ohio.
