GRAND RAPIDS, Mich.-- Max Levy swept the weekend at the 2017 NCAA Division III Diving Regional in Grand Rapids, Mich. After winning Friday's 3-meter competition, Levy returned with a convincing victory on the 1-meter board.
Levy totaled a score of 523.70, outdistancing second-place Jacob Burris from Albion College by 24 points. Levy had three dives with scores over 60. His best was his eighth dive where he was awarded a score of 63.55 on an inward 2 ½ somersault tuck.
Following in third place was Denison's Brian Allen who tallied a score of 495.30.
Also taking part in regionals for the DU men was first-year Michael Burke who placed 28th with a score of 354.10.
In the women's 3-meter competition, Denison's Allison Fitzgerald followed up her second-place showing on Friday's 1-meter board with a sixth-place finish on Saturday. She recorded an 11-dive score of 430.60 to lead the Big Red's trio of divers. Emma Weber followed in ninth place with 419.95 and Sarah Lopez checked in 15th at 382.95.
Fitzgerald landed six dives in the 40's with her best dive coming on her final dive, a back 1 ½ somersault 1 ½ twist free for a score of 45.60.
