GRANVILLE, Ohio-- The College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) has named Denison's men's and women's swimming and diving programs to its Scholar All-American team for the 2016 fall semester. Teams with a GPA of at least 3.00 in the fall semester are honored with Team Scholar All-American recognition. This year, a record number of teams qualified for the CSCAA recognition, with the Big Red's men's swimming and diving program among 62 percent of Division III teams earning a 3.00 GPA or higher and the women's team among 77 percent of Division III teams.
Denison's women's team boasts a cumulative grade point average of 3.43, while the men qualified by posting a 3.15 GPA. This marks the fourth-straight year both of Denison's teams have earned Team Scholar All-American accolades and among these honors, Denison's men's team is ranked number one in Division III and Denison women's team is ranked number two.
The Big Red will close out their dual meet schedule this Saturday, Jan. 28 when they travel to Ohio Wesleyan. On Feb. 8-11, Denison University and the Trumbull Aquatics Center will host the North Coast Athletic Conference Swimming & Diving Championships for the fourth consecutive year.
