Fitzgerald had a big week in meets against Ohio University and DePauw University. On Sunday against the Tigers, the first-year native of Grand Rapids, Michigan broke the Denison varsity record with an 11-dive score of 459.23 on the 1-meter board. She also won the 3-meter competition with a score of 423.53. Against the Bobcats, Fitzgerald took second in the 1-meter dive with a 6-dive score of 261.75. Her performances against DePauw punched her ticket to the NCAA Diving Regional in February.
Levy, already a two-time national champion and six-time All-American, was named the NCAC Athlete of the Week after winning both the 1-meter and 3-meter dives against DePauw. On the 1-meter, Levy won with an 11-dive score of 550.58. He took first in the 3-meter with a total of 546.38. Both scores met the NCAA's regional qualifying standard.
Denison's men's swimming & diving team is currently ranked No. 1 by the College Swimming Coaches Association of America and the women's team is ranked No. 2. The Denison men return to the pool on Friday, Jan. 13 when they host IUPUI at the 1 p.m. The men's and women's team will travel to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on Jan. 14 for a tri-meet with the Pitt Panthers and the Florida State Seminoles.
